Our goal is to provide the best possible accounting and related services to our clients. We achieve this goal through a staff of trained and technically competent people who are able to provide our clients with the highest quality of service appropriate to their individual needs.
Most of our clients are small or medium-sized businesses, but we do have some clients of a size large enough to be acquainted with the problems of "bigness" as they relate to public accounting. Through them, we have become identified in many fields and are recognized to possess expertise in foreign taxation and estates and trusts.
Our people are the most valuable asset we have, and they are chiefly responsible for our development. As Lasker Kim & Co., LLP, continues to grow, we have a constant need for people with ideas, imagination and the ability to advance to positions of greater responsibility.
It is of paramount importance to us that our clients are served by well-trained personnel who possess the most current technical knowledge in all areas of our profession.
Our partners are all Certified Public Accountants who are members of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. We encourage participation in various professional and social organizations in order to provide our people with continual opportunities to increase their knowledge and expertise.
Our professional staff is required to maintain their skills by completing a minimum of eighty hours of continuing professional education every two years. These requirements are fulfilled by attending seminars, workshops and conferences sponsored by the American Institute of CPA's and the California Society of CPA's and appropriate advanced college courses. We provide additional education through our own internal programs.
New staff members are encouraged to attend a CPA review course and to pass the CPA exam as soon as possible. All staff members receive extensive on-the-job training while working closely with partners and supervisors to gain valuable insights into the complexities of our profession. Individuals are carefully evaluated as they advance, and each is given the opportunity to specialize in technical areas which interest them.
